Anice C. N. Granville

Anice Granville is a Senior Partner at One Legal Caribbean, bringing over 27 years of distinguished legal expertise to the firm. She combines deep specialization in lending and secured financing with extensive corporate, commercial, and property development experience across the Caribbean. Recognized in the IFLR1000 2025 rankings as a “Highly Regarded” practitioner, Anice is admitted to the Bars of both Guyana and Barbados, offering clients comprehensive cross-jurisdictional capability.

Anice leads the firm’s banking and finance practice with responsibility for the firm’s relationships with local and regional financial institutions and lenders, and for implementing advisory and transactional best practices in lending and security throughout the firm’s regional footprint. She also oversees sector-specific regulatory compliance and advisory matters, the negotiation and review of financing and security documentation, the preparation of legal due diligence reports for corporate, real property, and asset due diligence, and the perfection and enforcement of security.

Her practice encompasses corporate finance, including advisory and transactional work relating to mergers and acquisitions finance and international business finance; project finance, including financing hotel construction, renewable energy projects, and residential and commercial property development involving hotel and condominium developments; property and asset finance; conveyancing and mortgages; maritime finance, including ship mortgages and financing; and local and cross-border financing transactions, including syndicated lending and security. She has an impressive record of advising local, regional, and international corporations, financial institutions, and investment banks on the full spectrum of lending and security matters, from structuring and negotiation through to recovery and enforcement.

Anice has particular expertise in corporate insolvency and restructuring, including enforcement of security, receiverships, asset realization, and corporate restructuring and divestment. Her experience also includes advising on acquisitions of publicly traded companies, regulatory and shareholder approvals, minority shareholder rights, and privatization, as well as hospitality and leisure transactions involving hotel acquisitions and financings

Prior to joining One Legal Caribbean, Anice served as Partner and Head of Banking and Finance for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean at a leading international law firm, where she was a member of the firm’s Legal 500 recognized Cross-Caribbean Corporate and Commercial practice. Previously, she spent over a decade at a leading Caribbean law firm in Barbados, progressing from Senior Associate to Partner, where she served a litigation and restructuring partner and then head of property development and mortgages practice.

Anice holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Guyana (1996) and a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School (1998). She was called to the Bar in Guyana in October 1998 and in Barbados in March 1999. She is a member of both the Guyana Bar Association and the Barbados Bar Association, and was formerly a member of INSOL International, the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals.
